William H. Tomer, 91, of Monessen, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2011, in Monongahela Valley Hospital. Born in Pulaski [Beaver or Lawrence County], Pa., on Jan. 13, 1919, he was the son of the late John J. [Jacob Bonner] and Ella Shepler Tomer.
He retired from American Chain and Cable, Monessen Plant, and Dynamics Inc., of Washington, Pa.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by by two wives, Ruth J. Roe Tomer and Emma Jamison Tomer; two brothers, John J. and Louis Tomer; three sisters, Sarah Gilmore, Edna Reis and Virginia Stark.
He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, one daughter and son-in-law, four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Friends will be received on Thursday, Jan. 13, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the ROBERT A. BILLICK FUNERAL HOME INC., Grand Boulevard and Marion Avenue, Monessen, (724) 684-3700. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Jan. 14, at 10 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Stanley Belcyzk and Robert Williams officiating.
Interment will follow in Monongahela Cemetery. "
