Fred A. Ainley, 90, formerly of 731 W. 11th St., died at 1:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Western Home, Cedar Falls, of complications incident to advanced age.

He was born Oct. 9, 1874, in Elgin, Ill., the son of David L. and Emma Clark Ainley. On Oct. 7, 1908, at Woodward, he married Clara Christensen. They lived in Perry and Reinbeck until moving to Waterloo in 1929. Mr. Ainley had been a resident of the Western Home since the death of his wife in 1958.

He was a member of the First Methodist Church and the Reinbeck Masonic Lodge. He had been employed at the Rath Packing Co. for 20 years, retiring in 1950.

Survivors include one son, David, 2031 Randolph St.; one daughter, Mrs. Guy Hummel. 4212 Crestview Dr.; one sister, Mrs. Ida Waggoner, Lewllen, Neb.; one brother, Thornton, Des Moines; two grandchildren; and one great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one sister and one brother.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Western Home Chapel, Cedar Falls. Friends may call at the Parrott and Wood Funeral Home after noon Wednesday.
