He married Leona Wedding. She predeceased him. He then married Edna Sander and she survives him. Prior to his retirement, Alfred was employed at Morley Brothers. He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, having served on the Finance Committee for many years. He was predeceased by one son, Alfred W. Buetow, one brother, Elmer Buetow, one grandson, Gregg Davis, and two stepchildren, Darwen Sander and Cherylene Layer.
Funeral service will take place 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 3, 2002 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 808 Weiss. Pastor Michael Korte will Officiate with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the Wakeman Funeral Home, Inc., 1218 N. Michigan Ave. on Wednesday from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., then at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a,m. until the time of service. Memorial may be given to Bethlehem Lutheran Church or charity of choice.
