Mrs. Gussie Mae Absten, 95, of Columbus, Ohio, formerly of Leon, died Friday in Columbus after a long illness. She was a member of Smith United Methodist Church, Leon. Surviving: sons, Landis of Leon and Willie of Groveport; daughters, Mrs. Norma Parthemer and Mrs. Dorothy Sullivan, both of Columbus, Mrs. Ina Jones of Point Pleasant, W. Va., Mrs. Thelma Deweese of Leon; 25 grandchildren; 60 great-grandchildren; 30 great-great-grandchildren; two great-great-great-grandchildren. Service was Tuesday at Smith United Methodist Church, Leon, with the Rev. Homer Stephens officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Raynes Funeral Home, Buffalo, was in charge of arrangements.
