Jimmie Gwynne (Langford) Jacoby Cloudt, 96, of Ozona, passed from this Earth to join our Lord on Sunday, Feb. 11. She had been a resident at the Crockett County Care Center for five years.
Jimmie Gwynne was born on Aug. 26, 1921, in Sonora and was a member of the 1939 class of Sonora High School. She briefly attended Texas Christian University in Fort Worth before marrying Pete William Jacoby of Menard County on Dec. 28, 1940, in Austin. The couple lived briefly in Houston before the outbreak of World War II. While Pete was on military duty in the Army, Jimmie worked in the purchasing department at several Army Air Corps bases in San Antonio where her parents resided.
In 1946, the couple reunited and moved to Junction and later moved to Ozona in 1952 where Pete served as the County Agricultural Agent until his retirement in 1974. Jimmie worked as an accountant at South Texas Lumber Company before beginning a career as third grade teacher in the Ozona Public School system. She received her Bachelor degree and Master degree in Education from Sul Ross State University in Alpine through correspondence and summer residencies.
The couple resided the rest of their lives in Ozona and Pete passed away in 2000. The couple raised two sons, Pete, Jr. and David, both of whom graduated from Ozona High School before leaving to attend college. In 2007, Jimmie married her former high school sweetheart, Jim Bill Cloudt, of Edwards County, and they resided in 0zona prior to his passing in 2008.
Jimmie was a life-long member of the Methodist Church and she supported it until her passing.
Jimmie is Survived by two sons, Pete William Jacoby, Jr. (Bill) and wife Pattie of Pullman, Washington and David James Jacoby of Austin; three grandchildren, Joseph David (J.D.) Jacoby of Manhattan, Montana, James William Jacoby (Jim) and wife Patricia of The Colony, Texas and Haley Rose Jacoby of Austin.
She was preceded in death by first husband of 60 years, Pete Jacoby; her second husband, Jim Cloudt; and grandson Brandon Dale Jacoby.
Service is at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, at 0zona United Methodist Church followed by graveside service in Cedar Hill Cemetery, south of Ozona. Online condolences may be made at kerbowfuneralhome.com
