Mr. Wayne E. Baker, 65, of Bartlesville, died at 9:55 P.M. on Sunday August 12th 2012, at his home in Bartlesville.

The Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. on Thursday Aug. 16th at the Stumpff Funeral Home Chapel.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, August 17th at Tuxedo Assembly of God Church in Bartlesville, with Rev. Leroy Baker and Rev. Bret Luallen, pastor of the church, officiating. Interment will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory.

Memorial Contributions may be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society c/o 66 Federal Credit Union, 501 S. Johnstone Ave. Bartlesville, Oklahoma, 74003, Attn: Safe Deposit Teller.

Mr. Baker was born on September 7, 1946 at Bartlesville, Oklahoma, to Homer Edward and Margie B. (Hutchinson) Baker. He grew up and received his education here, graduating from College High School in the Class of 1964. He was married to Kay White on June 19, 1964 in Bartlesville, celebrating their 48th anniversary this year. They made their home here, except for 6 years that they lived in Denver Colorado. He was employed by the Phillips Petroleum Company for 26 years as an office facilitator, retiring in 1997, and then was later employed by the 66 Federal Credit Union for 8 years, until his ill health caused him to retire. His hobbies were going to the lake, fishing, and spending time with his family and grandchildren, and he also enjoyed working on projects at his home. He was a man of great strength and character and had his priorities straight. He was a Shepherd of people and loved his God and his family.

Mr. Baker is survived by his wife Kay of the home, a daughter and son- in- law Malinde and Steven Stitt of Bartlesville, by three grandsons Collin, Tyler and Austin Stitt; and by numerous nieces and nephews and cousins, also by a special brother-in-law and sister- in- law, Leroy and Evelyn Baker, of Madill, Oklahoma, and a special brother-in-law James White of Tulsa. He was preceded in death by his mother Margie Baker, and his father Homer Baker, and by a sister Darlene Stewart.
