Peter Connolly was the brother of my Mary Connolly Martin. He emigrated from Ireland to Ontario Canada around 1845 and settled on farm land in Ellice Township Perth County near a little corner called Kinkora which was given to them from the Canada Company. The farmland and leaseholder records are documented in the book "Echoes of Ellice" published in 1999 by the townspeople.
The record shows Peter settled on Concession 9 Lot 30 as a leaseholder in 1845 and owner in 1856. The lot was split around 1862/1872 for new owners Bernard and Owen Connolly which I believe are Peter's brothers. His son Patrick was born in Ontario in 1868 so the family may have moved to Stratford until finally moving to Michigan.
