Allen is survived by his wife of 54 years, Ouida Romero Blanchard of Morgan City; his daughter, Donna B. Ross and her husband Lanny of Morgan City; one granddaughter, Fallon Hardaway Mason and her husband Matthew of Youngsville; one step-grandson, Chad Ross and his wife Katherine of Berwick; one sister, Evelyn Willis of Morgan City; four sisters-in-law, Neola Hargrave of Kaplan, and Annie Mae Simon, Earline Liner and Lona Myers, all of Morgan City; and special friends, Oswald and Yvonne Verret of Morgan City, and Bill and Ann Morgan of Marrero.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Allen and Audrey Gray Blanchard; three brothers, Bernie, Dale and Rickey Blanchard; and three sisters, Mary Dell Gros, Shirley Naquin and Dolly McAdams.
Allen was a member of the American Legion, AARP and was a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Morgan City.
The family requests that visitation be observed Sunday, Oct. 2, 2011, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Hargrave Funeral Home in Morgan City. Visitation will resume Monday, Oct. 3 at 8 a.m. until time of dismissal at Hargrave Funeral Home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, Oct. 3, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Morgan City with graveside services following in the Morgan City Cemetery. The East St. Mary Veterans Funeral Squad will preside over military honors.
