Mr. Yves P. Becnel Jr., of Darrow, LA., died August 11, 2012 at the age of 85. He had served in the Army. Mr. Becnel enjoyed gardening and woodcrafts.
Mr. Becnel is survived by his wife: Nannie S. Becnel; his sons and daughters-in-law, Roger Becnel, Dennis and Danette Becnel, Mark and Susan Becnel; daughter-in-law, Kathy Becnel; 1 stepdaughter: Sandra McFerren and husband Huey; his stepsons: Richard Wallace and wife Beverly, and Darrell Wallace and wife Kathy; his sisters: Thelma Badeaux and Carolyn Becnel; brothers, OD Becnel and Callen Becnel; 8 grandchildren; four step grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and three step great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Edna Schexnaydre and Yves Pierre Becnel Sr.; 3 sons, Larry Becnel, Malcolm Becnel, Pernell Becnel; his 1st wife: Eunice LeBlanc Becnel; 1 stepdaughter: Carol Wallace; 2 daughters-in-law: Paulette L. Becnel, and Darlene P. Becnel; grandson, Dwayne Becnel; step grandson, Joshua Wallace; 1 sister: Rita Haydel; and 1 brother: Hebert Becnel.
Mass of Christian burial was held on Tuesday, August 14, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. in St. Anthony Catholic Church, in Darrow. Rev. Michael Galea, celebrant officiated the services. He was laid to rest at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Dennis Becnel, Mark Becnel, Chad Becnel, Jed LeBlanc, T.J. Battle, and Darrell Wallace.
