Sweenney, 80, formerly of 602 Canton
St., Ogdensburg, were held
Wednesday a t 10:30 a.m. from the
LaLonde-Briggs Funeral Home
and 11 a.m. at St. Mary's
Cathedral. Burial was in the Glenwood
Cemetery in Watertown.
Mr. Sweenney died Monday morning
(Dec. 16, 1985) at the St.
Lawrence Psychiatric Center in
Ogdensburg.
Surviving are his wife, Eva; a
son, Neil of Los Angeles, Calif.; two
daughters, Mrs. Murray (Anne)
Latham of Saranac Lake, Carolyn
Perry of Marcellus; three stepchildren,
Larry Costigan,
Margaret Costigan and Shirley
Bohling, all of Ogdensburg; 15
grandchildren; five greatgrandchildren.
A son, William,
died in 1983; two sisters also
predeceased,
He was born in Ogdensburg on
June 10, 1905, son of William and
Emma Manville Sweenney. He
worked at Acme Markets in
Gouverneur for over 40 years as a
meat cutter.
He was first married to Grace
O'Neil in 1930. She died in 1966. He
later married Eva M Spears on
Aug. 2,1969 at St. Mary's Cathedral
with Msgr. Joseph Bailey officiating.
She was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral parish
