Funeral for Lois Viola Boice, 89, Lawton will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home Chapel with Jim Antwine officiating.
Mrs. Boice passed away Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012, in Lawton.
Burial will be at Flower Mound Cemetery, Lawton.
She was born July 12, 1923, in Lawton, to Dan and Gladys Farrar Harrison. She grew up in Lawton where she attended school. She married the love of her life, Louie Boice, Oct. 8, 1939, in Lawton. They moved to Oregon in 1943 where Lois worked in the shipyards during WWII. They returned to Lawton after the war and stayed until December of 1955 when they moved to San Leondro, Calif. Lois cared for her children and two others, Debbie Pellham and Kevin Arnett for many years. She and Louie returned to Lawton to be near to family. Mr. Boice passed away Dec. 24, 2008. Lois loved to garden and enjoyed embroidering. She attended Bible Missionary Church for several years.
Survivors include her son, Dennis Boice, Grants Pass, Ore.; three daughters and a son-in-law: Delores Rivenburg, of the home; Retha Lunsford, Lawton and Penny and John Tsoodle, Mountain View; a brother, Don Harrison, Catoosa; two sisters, Ruth Hennessee and Jewel Christian, both of Lawton; six grandchildren: Ricky Hervey, Steven Hervey, Tim Lunsford, Gerald Lunsford, Brenda Boice and Laurie Krul; nine great-grandchildren: Levi Hervey, Tyler Hervey, Britney Hervey, Ashley Boice, Dylan Boice, Matthew Krul, Nathanael Krull, Allie Krull and Joshua Lunsford; a great-great-granddaughter, Alexandra Hervey; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
