Mrs. Esther Emaline Slater, 75, of Corsica was pronounced dead on arrival at Clarion Hospital on Saturday. She was born August 21, 1894 at Mechanicsville, the daughter of Wilbur and Emma Ebbinger [sic] Kahle. On September 1, 1912, she married Wayne H. Slater, who survives. Mrs. Slater attended the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church. In addition to her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Isabelle Caravan of Sulton, N.Y.; Mrs. Ruth Jury of Corsica and Mrs. Anita Brown of San Francisco, Calif.; four sons, Wilbur Slater of Corsica, Harry Slater of Shippenville, RD 1, Richard Slater of Sacramento, Calif.; and Roger Slater of Youngstown, Ohio; three brothers, Lawrence Kahle of Clarion, Ralph Kahle of Oil City and Max Kahle of Cleveland, Ohio; 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Private funerals services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Goble Funeral Home, Clarion, with Rev. Robert Johnson, pastor of the Kahletown Community Church. Interment will be in Clarion Cemetery.
