He had been in failing health for several years but had been active in his practice until the time of his death.
A graduate of the Indiana State College in 1921, he practiced in Kewaskum until moving to Chilton in 1929. He was a veteran of World War I.
He was born at Random Lake, Aug. 24, 1897, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Demler, and was married at Crown Point, Ind., to Anastasia Rolf.
Surviving are his wife; four daughters, Mrs. Jack (Joan) Bostick, Glendora, Calif., Mrs. Emil (Jacqueline) Custer, Stockbridge, Mrs. James (Martha) Livernois, Jackson, Mich., and Miss Beverly Demler, at home; three sons, James with the U.S. Army in France, Richard, DePerer, and Rodney with the Navy at Great Lakes, Ill., and 11 grandchildren.
He is also survived by two brothers, Edward and William, both of Random Lake, and five sisters, Mrs. Louis Wenzel and Mrs. Joseph Siebenaler, both of Random Lake, Miss Martha Demler, West Bend, Mrs. Ray Aller, Port Washington, and Mrs. Fred Schmit, Saukville.
Funeral services were held at St. Mary’s Church with the Rev. Henry Schmitt, pastor, officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery with the American Legion conducting military rites at graveside.
