Eli Burl Abel, 81, of 9500 E. 64th Terrace, Raytown, died Wednesday in a nursing home at 6124 Raytown Road, Raytown. He was born in Troy, Kan., and he had lived in this area 65 years. Mr. Abel was a lumber-man for the Schutte Lumber Co. He was a member of the Independence Masonic Lodge. He was a Christian. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Blanche Abel, and a son, Charles Abel, both of the home; a brother, William C. Abel, Parkville; two sisters, Mrs. Lela Hillegas, Troy, and Mrs. Mernie Caine, Tunnel Hill, Ga.; 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Mount Moriah Chapel; burial in Mount Moriah Cemetery. Masonic services will be at 7:30 p.m. today at the chapel, where friends may call from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today.
