Walter L. Yonke, 60, of 1524 S. 16th St., Manitowoc, died Saturday morning, April 1, at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Arthur C. Senn will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Yonke was born Oct. 3, 1922, in Portage County, Wisconsin, son of the late Theodore and Gurta Boelter Yonke. He grew up and was educated in Portage and Marathon Counties and moved to Manitowoc in 1958 from Wausau, Wis. He retired from Wisconsin Aluminum Foundry, Manitowoc, in 1981. He married Bernice Chapin April 7, 1947, at Wausau. She preceded him in death May 18, 1977. He married Jeanette Paque Aug. 2, 1980, in Manitowoc. Mr. Yonke was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanette, a son, Jim Yonke of Chicago; stepchildren, Karen, Aimee, Michel (sic), Jonathan and Gregory; two brothers, Glen Yonke of Merrill and Lloyd Yonke of Wausau; a sister, Eleanor Mehne of Waupaca, four grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Two brothers and a sister preceded him in death.
Friends may call at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc, 4 o'clock to 9 o'clock this Monday afternoon until 11 a.m. Tuesday and at the church from noon until the time of service.
