Died.
Wallis-- Died at her residence, in this city, August 24th, 1871, Mrs. Amanda Wallis,
wife of Daniel Wallis, aged 62 years.
The deceased was born in Chattangoy, Franklin County, N.Y. in 1809, and came to
Manitowoc with her husband, in 1857, where she continued to reside till her death.
Mrs. Wallis was widely known, and greatly beloved for her christian virtues. Her
remarkable kindness and charities as a neighbor, and her prominent value as a member
of society, will long be remembered and cherished. Her death is a much mourned loss
to our community. She leaves a devoted husband, several children, and a large number
of relatives, who have our heartfelt sympathy for the grief we cannot fully share.

Mrs. Amanda Derby, wife of Daniel Wallis,
aged 62 years.
The subject of the above notice was a
native of Chatteauqua, Franklin county,
New York settled in Pontiac, Mich,. where
she resided for fifteen years, when she
removed with her family to this city, where
she died, leaving a large circle of sorrowing
friends and relatives.
