Jack was born on June 9, 1919, in Manitowoc, to the late Delmer and Ada Kings Seitz. He graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1937. On June 20, 1941, Jack married Edna Stanelle in Crown Point, Ind. Edna preceded him in death on March 12, 2009. Jack owned and operated Seitz's Lanes for over 40 years. He was the founder of Junior Bowling in Manitowoc. Jack was a member of the Manitowoc Bowling Association, Elks Lodge 687, Fraternal Order of Eagles 706, and served as director and treasurer of the Seagull's Club. He was inducted into the Manitowoc Bowling Association Hall of Fame in 1983 and the Lakeshore All Sports Hall of Fame in 1991.
Survivors include two children, Judy Seitz, Manitowoc; Jack Seitz and his special friend, Sandra Gould, Neenah; two granddaughters, Sara (Andy) Nowacki, Franklin; and Peg (Matt) Wedig, Oconomowoc; five great-grandsons, D.J., Zachary, Nicholas, A.J., and Treyton; one nephew, Tom Skatrud, Menomonee Falls; two sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law, Emily Stanelle, Grand Rapids, Minn.; and Alice (Bennet) Skatrud; also other relatives and friends. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Edna; daughter-in-law, Sara Burger Seitz; and one nephew, Jim Skatrud.
The family will greet relatives and friends on Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2011, at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home, N. 11th and St. Clair streets, Manitowoc from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. Deacon Paul Kieffer will officiate with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
