Mr. Gerhardt A. Schwanke, 66, of Rt. 2, Reedsville,Wis., died unexpectedly Thursday, Sept. 27, in the township of Rockland, in Manitowoc County.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Urbanek and
Schlei Funeral Home, State Street Chapel. The Rev. Edmund E. Oson will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Schwanke was born May 1, 1913, in the township of Rantoul, in Calumet County, son of the late Albert and Martha Krueger Schwanke. He lived in Manitowoc County most of his life. In the 1940's he was employed at Manitowoc Ship Building company and Valders Lime and Stone. In later years he worked at various farms in Manitowoc County.
Survivors include a brother, Ervin Schwanke of Rt. 2, Reedsville, Wis.; a sister, Mrs. Neoma Oestreich of Manitowoc; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four brothers and seven sisters.
Friends may call at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, 9th Street Chapel, 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday and Monday until the time of services.
