William C. Schwalbe, 91, of Park Lawn Nursing Home, Manitowoc, died Sunday,
May 2, at the nursing home.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Jens Funeral Home, Manitowoc.
The Rev. Richard Lind will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery,
Manitowoc.
Mr. Schwalbe was born March 17, 1891, at Sheboygan, son of the late Ferdinand
and Christina Stolzenburg Schwalbe. He attended schools in the Sheboygan area.
He married Lillian Hildebrand, June 30, 1913, at Sheboygan. She preceded him in
death in 1979.
Mr. Schwalbe was employed at several chair factories in the Sheboygan area as an
upholsterer. He moved to Manitowoc where he owned and operated his own upholstery
shop for over 30 years. He was a member of First Lutheran Church, Eagles Aerie No.
706, and Manitowoc Masonic Lodge No. 65 F. and A.M.
Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Harry and Gertrude Schwalbe of
Milwaukee, and Arthur Schwalbe of Chicago; four grandchildren and three great
grandchildren.
Friends may call at Jens Funeral Home Tuesday from noon until the time of services.
There will be no Monday evening visitation.
