Mrs. Kermit (Laura) Schwalbe, 79, of 1210 Grand Avenue, Manitowoc, died Sunday
evening, July 7, at the family residence.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at First German Evangelical
Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. Rev. Arno J. Wolfgramm will officiate and burial
will be in Evergreeen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mrs. Schwalbe was born March 27, 1906, in the Town of Cato, Manitowoc County,
daughter of the late William and Mary Hansen Wiegert. She married Kermit
Schwalbe on November 5, 1931, at Valders. Mrs. Schwalbe was a member of First
German Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manitowoc.
Survivors include her husband, Kermit; a son and daughter-in-law, Gary and
Bernice Schwalbe of Manitowoc; a daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Wayne
Avery of Milwaukee; a brother and sister-in-law, Isadore and Erna Wiegert of
rural Manitowoc; two sisters, Mrs. Frieda Rusch of Shakopee, Minnesota; three
grandchildren, Scott Avery, Glenn Avery, and Jason Schwalbe; a sister-in-law,
Mrs. Johanna Wiegert of Valders, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Fred Wiegert, a sister, Arlene Roeske,
and a granddaughter, Linda Avery.
Friends may call at Parkside Funeral Home, Manitowoc, 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday
and Wednesday morning from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. and then at the church from
noon to the time of services.
