Edwin C. Schurr, 75, of 911 N. 17th St., Manitowoc, died Saturday night at the family residence following a coronary attack.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manitowoc, the Rev. T.F. Uetzmann officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Mr. Schurr was born Jan. 22, 1888, at Manitowoc, son of the late Simon and Emma Schmiedicke Schurr, and resided at Manitowoc all his life. He married Maria A. Kono June 26, 1913. Prior to his retirement in June, 1956, he was foreman of the jointer shop of Manitowoc Shipbuilding Inc.
He was a member of Carpenters Local No. 849 and an honorary member of Emanuel Men's Club.
Survivors include his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Roland (Marie) Albrecht of Milwaukee; two sons, Paul E. of Kalamazoo, Mich., and John C. of Madison; two sisters, Mrs. Martha Brown of Riverside, Calif., and Miss Edna Schurr of Manitowoc and 10 grandchildren. A daughter, Janet, preceded him in death in infancy. A brother and a sister also preceded him in death.
Friends may call after 3 p.m. Tuesday at Pfeffer Funeral Home until noon Wednesday when the casket will be moved to the church where the body will lie in state until the hour of service.
