Elmer W. Schroeter, 63, 621 Marshal street, Manitowoc, died Thursday morning
at Holy Family hospital following a short illness.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Pfeffer funeral home,
the Rev. John Walker officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Mr. Schroeter was born in 1886 in Manitowoc and always lived here. He operated
the Schroeter bakery for several years and then worked for the Wernecke and
Schmitz Hardware company. For the past 35 years, he has been employed at the
Huchthausen Hardware company. In 1911 he married Margaret Lehmkuhl. She preceded
him in death in 1946.
Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. R. H. Wilpolt of Dante, Va.; a son, Elmer, at
home; sister, Mrs. Hugo Ingrisch of Milwaukee; and three grandchildren.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Friday.

SOUTH SIDE COUPLE WED
Miss Lehmkuhl Bride of Elmer Schroeter this Morning.
Miss Marguerite Lehmkuhl and Elmer Schroeter, well known South Side young people,
were united in marriage at a quiet home wedding at the bride's home 1114 So. 9th
St., at 10 o'clock this morning, the ceremony being solemnized by Rev. Menchner.
Following a wedding dinner and reception, the young couple departed for a honeymoon
and will return to take up their home here.
Mr. and Mrs. Schroeter are well known in younger social circles of the city and
are popular with a host of friends. The bride is a daughter of Henry Lehmkuhl and
for some time was employed as a member of the clerk force at the Sobel store. She
is a young lady possessing those qualities of heart and mind that have made
here (sic) a favorite with her friends. Mr. Schroeter is a son of Charles Schroeter
and was formerly an employe of the Manitowoc Gas Co. and more recently a student at
Chicago, returning here a few weeks ago, planning to engage in the bakery business
in which he was accociated (sic) with his father. Mr. Schroeter will establish a
business on Jay St. in the building formerly occupied by his father, April 1.
Mr. and Mrs. Schroeter will take up their home on Jay seret (sic) and will be at
home to friends April 15.
