William C. Schroeder, 65, of 1431 Lee Circle, Manitowoc, died Sunday in Memorial Hospital, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be 1:30 pm Wednesday in Redeemer Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Arthur Senn will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc. Military graveside rites will be accorded Mr. Schroeder by Disabled American Veterans.
Mr. Schroeder was born April 3, 1913 in Oconto, Wis., son of the late Gustave and Elizabeth Scharff Schroeder. He was graduated from Manitowoc Business College and served in the United States Army during World War II. He married Mabel Miller Aug. 23, 1941 in Reedsville and was the former owner and operator of Manitowoc Brake Service retiring in 1975. Mr. Schroeder was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Fisherman's Club and Adult Bible Group of the church. He was also a member and former commander of Disabled American Veterans.
Survivors include his wife, Mabel; three sons, Peter of Green Bay the Rev. William Jr. of Salem, Ill.; two daughters, Mrs. Ronald (Cory) Weber of Saginaw, Mich. and Mrs. Dave (Sue Beth) Larson of Stevens Point; two sisters, Mrs. Clarence (Mabel) Holdorf of Manitowoc and Mrs. Margaret Riemer of Hilbert and six grandchildren.
Friends may call in Parkside Funeral Home, 628 N. Water St., Manitowoc, 4 pm to 9 pm Tuesday and in the church Wednesday from noon until the time of service. Memorials may be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church or charity of the donor's choice.
