EDWIN H. SCHROEDER (d. 1980)

Edwin H. Schroeder, 83, of Route 1, Glenbeulah, died Thursday, December 18, at
Plymouth Hosptial.
Funeral services will be 12 noon Saturday at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Fond du
Lac. The Rev. Karl A. Gurgel, pastor, will officiate and private commital
services will be at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Schroeder was born June 16, 1897, at Maribel, son of the late Herman and
Mathilda Natzke Schroeder. The family moved to Morrison in Brown County where
he attended Lutheran Day School. He married Hulda Brandt April 4, 1920, at
Wayside. Mr. Schroeder was a cheesemaker by trade and operated cheese factories
at Wayside and Reedsville and since 1927 at rural Glenbeulah. A recipient of many
prizes for the cheese he manufactured and exhibited at county, state and national
competitions, he also received a purple ribbon in international competition in
1941. After retiring from cheesemaking, he was employed part time by Stokley Van
Camp Company in Plymouth. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Plymouth,
for 36 years, serving on the church council and finance committees. Since 1970 he
was affiliated with St. Peter Lutheran church, Fond du Lac.
Survivors include his wife, two daughters, Mrs. P.R. (Lois) Reinfeldt of Burlington,
Wis. and Mrs. John (Naomi) Dottel of the Town of Plymouth and four grandchildren.
Three brothers and a sister preceded him in death.
Friends may call at Wittkopp Funeral Home, Plymouth, after 3 o'clock this Friday
afternoon until 9 a.m. Saturday and at the church from 11 a.m. until the time of
service. A memorial has been established in Mr. Schroeder's name.
