Funeral services for Edwin H. Scholten, 68, of 2116 Lakeside Blvd., who died
unexpectedly Saturday morning at his home, will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at
Mittnacht Funeral Home and at 10 p.m.(sic) at St. Andrew Catholic Church,
Manitowoc. The Rev. James R. DeWitt will officiate and burial will be in
Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Scholten was born Nov. 30, 1901, at Manitowoc, son of the late William
and Margaret Kellner Scholten. He attended Lincoln High School, Manitowoc,
and Lawrence College, Appleton. He had been with the First Securities Company
for 41 years and had currently been the chairman of the board. He was also
secretary-treasurer of Capitol Building Corp., of Manitowoc.
He married Jane Kahill in 1930 at Fond du Lac. He was active in the Red Cross
for 25 years and a member of Manitowoc Independent Insurance Agents Board,
National Association of Security Dealers, Holstein Breeders of America, Isaak
Walton League, Elks Lodge No. 687, Kiwanis Club, Fourth Degree Knights of
Columbus and the Parish Council of Catholic Men.
Survivors include his wife; a son, two daughters, a brother, the Rev. Henry
Scholten, of New London, and a sister, Mrs. Glen Johnson, of Manitowoc.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 o'clock this Monday evening,
where a wake service will be at 8 o'clock by the Rev. Charles Brooks.
Memorials may be given to charity.
