John C. Schmeichel, age 80, of 9015 N. Paradise Drive, Kewaskum, died on Monday
afternoon, July 16, 2007, at West Allis Memorial Hospital, West Allis.
He was born on May 29, 1927, in Manitowoc, son of the late Arthur W. and Martha M.
(Chandler) Schmeichel. John graduated from St. Norbert College and also attended
Marquette University. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II,
serving a tour overseas. On Aug. 20, 1949, he married the former Ruth Brandt at
Holy Innocents Catholic Church, Manitowoc. John was the owner/operator of Patti's
Affordable Car Rental for many years until his retirement.

He was preceded in death by two brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Fred and Mary
Brandt; and David and JoAnne Brandt.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 19, 2007, at St.
Francis of Assisi on Waldo, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial
will be the Rev. Gerald Foley with burial at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Francis of Assisi on Waldo,
Manitowoc, from 9:30 a.m., on Thursday, July 19, 2007, until the time of service
at 10:30 a.m.
The Pfeffer Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Manitowoc, is assisting the family
with funeral arrangements.
