Card of Thanks
STONE’S CROSSING, IND., July 10, 1887
I wish to return thanks to the citizens of Greenwood and vicinity for the very great kindness shown to the family of the late Thos. W. Pruner, my son-in-law, in their sickness and his death. The kind attention bestowed was a matter that came under my immediate observation constantly while I was there, and my daughter, Mrs. Pruner, who is at my house, still under the Doctor’s care speaks of it often with gratitude. Indeed it could not be otherwise than that we should be grateful when we remember how much interest was shown by the many kind friends in Greenwood, merchants and others in business, closed their houses and cared for the sick and dying in a way that will ever be most gratefully remembered by myself and family. And now, dear friends, one and all, let me say again that you have our heartfelt thanks for your disinterested acts of love and kindness to my afflicted children. Very Truly Yours, CAPT. JONES AND FAMILY.

The Franklin Republican, Friday, July 22, 1887, Volume 43, Number 29, page 1, column 2
The widow and daughter of the late Thomas Pruner, of Greenwood, have been quite sick at the residence of Capt. J. M. Jones. They are now convalescing.

The Franklin Republican, Friday, July 29, 1887, Volume 43, Number 30, page 5, column 1
Jessie T. Harris has qualified as administrator of the estate of T. W. Pruner, deceased, with Capt. James M. Jones as surety. Bond, $5,000.
