GUSTAVE M. GILBERT

Gust M. Gilbert, 79 (photo) of 2410 Liberty place, Manitowoc, died Saturday
night at the Holy Family hospital, following a brief illness.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Urbanek and Schlei
funeral home, Manitowoc. The Rev. John Walker will officiate and burial will
be in Evergreen cemetery.
He was born in Manitowoc in 1871 and accompanied his parents to Claybanks,
Door county. When he was 18 years the family returned to Manitowoc, and he
became assistant manager of the feed department of the O. Torrison company.
He later was a veteran employe of the Manitowoc boiler works, retiring in
1928.
In 1895 he married Miss Nelle Herman of Manitowoc. She survives with a son,
George, of Manitowoc; four daughters, Mrs. Edward Walthers and Mrs. Robert
Einberger of Manitowoc, Mrs. Arcell Wolf of Two Rivers and Mrs. Don
Battenberg of DePere; and six grandchildren.
Friends may call at the funeral home until the hour of services.

Final rites for Gust M. Gilbert, 79, of 2410 Liberty place, Manitowoc, who
died Saturday, were held this afternoon at the Urbanek and Schlei funeral
home, Manitowoc. The Rev. John Walker officiated and burial was in Evergreen
cemetery.
In addition to the survivors listed, a brother, Christ Gilbert of Manitowoc,
also survives.
