Mr. Erwin P. Gaterman, 89, of 1130 Lincoln Blvd, Manitowoc, died Sunday morning, Dec. 18, at his residence.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at St. John United Church of Christ, Manitowoc. The Rev. Gerald Schrankler will officiate with burial at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Gaterman was born February 15, 1894 at Newton, Wisconsin, son of the late Wilhelm and Lydia Grosshuesch Gaterman. He attended the Manitowoc school systems and attended business schools in Manitowoc and Milwaukee. He then entered business with his father at the Gaterman Manufacturing Company in 1914. During his employment he held several positions including president of the company and currently was chairman of the Board. He married Gladys Anderson on October 4, 1916, at Manitowoc, Wisconsin. She preceded him in death May 22, 1974. He then married Molly Falck December 26, 1974, at Wayside, Wisconsin. He was a member of St. John United Church of Christ and held several office on the church council.
Survivors include his wife, Molly; two sons and daughters-in-law, William and Florence Gaterman of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and Glenn and Janet Gaterman of Manitowoc; a stepson and a daughter-in-law, Wayne and Joan Falck of Duval, Wisconsin; two stepdaughters and a stepson-in-law Janice and Gilbert Krueger of Wayside, Wisconsin, and Nancy Falck of Cudahy, Wisconsin; two sisters, Freda Born of Tucson, Ariz., and Laura Kriz of Phoenix, Ariz.; four grandchildren, Kay Nellis, William Gaterman III, David Gaterman and Debra Wenzel; a great grandson, Brett Wenzel, seven step grandchildren, and a step great granddaughter, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by a son, Erwin J.
Friends may call at Parkside Funeral Home, from 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday evening and at the church on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of service. Memorials would be appreciated to St. John United Church of Christ, Memorial Hospital, or the charity of the donors choice.
