JUNE CLAIRE EVENSON
June C. Evenson, age 89, a former Manitowoc resident, died Wednesday, Oct. 18,
2006, at San Luis Nursing Home in Ashwaubenon.
The former June Woerfel was born April 15, 1917 in Manitowoc, a daughter of the
late William and Dorothea Hardow Woerfel. She grew up in Manitowoc and was a
graduate of Lincoln High School in 1935. June was married to George O. Evenson
on February 14, 1942 in Dubuque, Iowa. He preceded her in death on Oct. 27, 2000.
June was employed for many years at the Mirro Corp., as a cost accountant. She
was a member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church of Manitowoc.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law: William O. (Patti S.) Evenson,
Green Bay; one daughter and son-in-law: Barbara (Kenneth) Schuyler, Oneida; four
grandchildren: Michele Smith, Green Bay; Mike Wagner, Green Bay, and his fiancee:
Cindy Nowak; Katie Evenson, Miami Beach, Fla.; Erik Evenson, Wausau; two great-
grandchildren: Nicholas Wagner, Green Bay; Brandon P. Smith, Green Bay; two
sisters: Rose Schneck, Elkhorn; Shirley Krejcie, Manitowoc; one sister-in-law:
Marcella Zabel, Green Bay; nieces, nephews other relatives and friends survive.
She was preceded in death by brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2006, at the
Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home of Manitowoc, 818 State St. The Rev.
Brian Staude will officiate, with burial to follow at the Evergreen Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10:30 a.m.
until the time of service at 11:30 a.m. A memorial fund has been established
in her name for St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church or the Salvation Army.
