John H. Brixius (photo), 70, of 1334 S. 19th St., Manitowoc, died Sunday afternoon
at his home following a heart attack. Funeral services will be at 8:30 am Wednesday
at Pfeffer Funeral Home and at 9 a at ST. Boniface Catholic Church, the Rev. Alfred
Pritzl officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Mr. Brixius was born Nov. 7, 1887 at Mondovi, Wisconsin, son of the late John and
Emma Schneider Brixius. He moved to Manitowoc as a young man and was employed at
Manitowoc Shipbuilding Inc., until his retirement in 1955. He married Margaret
Gallagher at Antigo in 1907. Mr. Brixius was a member of the Boilermakers Union.
Survivors include his wife, two sons, Kenneth of Manitowoc and Donald of Two Rivers;
three daughters, Mrs. Victor Mrozinski, Mrs. Louis Jirikowic and Mrs. Chester
Rosinsky of Manitowoc; two brothers, George of Manitowoc and Ben, California; four
sisters, Mrs. Val Lybek, Mrs. Anna Lodde and Mrs. Al Buss of Milwaukee and Mrs. Ben
Winkelman of Waukesha; nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Friends may call after 3 pm Tuesday at the funeral home where the Rosary will be
recited at 7:30 pm Tuesday.
