— Funeral services for John Harrison Hendren, 81, of Clarksville, will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 13, at Chapman Funeral Home, Clarksville, with burial in Walnut Ridge Cemetery, Jeffersonville. He died Thursday, Aug. 9, 2012.
He was born in Harrodsburg, Ky., on Oct. 17, 1930. He was a retired inspector for TARC in Louisville, and a Navy Veteran serving from 1948-1950. He and his wife, Ada, were married on Nov. 17, 1951 and for most of those years traveled the country pursuing their love and passion for auto racing. He raced for several years at various local tracks.
He is survived by his wife, the former Ada Anderson; two daughters, Wanda McCabe and her husband, Frank, and Theresa Goodlin and her husband, Russ; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by five half sisters and two half brothers
