Pearl Junia Wilcoxson originally called Nancy Jane McCoy was the daughter of George McCoy She was conceived when her mother Rosetta was married to 2/h Philemon D. Gilbert and called "Nancy Jane" McCoy at birth in 1896. Because of affair, Philemon D. Gilbert and Rosetta Violet separated before 1900 . Philemon D. Gilbert and son William Dominec Gilbert FAG 85967299 living in Virginia in 1900. Nancy Jane McCoy was given up to adoptive parents at age 4 years which would have been 1900.
Her adoptive parents were: James Calvin Wilcoxson and Deliliah Samuels Wilcoxson of Hart, Oceana Co., MI. The Wilcoxson's were not related but friends of her mother Rosetta. Family story passed down to daughter Katherine JuniaThompson. The Wilcoxson's changed her name to "Pearl Junia" Wilcoxson when she was adopted by them.
On 1900 Federal Census, Pearl is living with the Wilcoxson family as adoptive daughter in Hart, MI.
Her natural parents: George McCoy and Rosetta V. (Babcock) Mattison, Gilbert did marry
27 August 1902 Copemish, Manistee Co., MI.

grandfather was Hector Gilbert son of William Dominec Gilbert and Nellie Celia Bryan. Hector
at age 11 took his step-father's surname.
