On Saturday morning, March 29Th, 1930, occured the death of Mrs. J. M. Peterson,72years old. She was born in Olmsted county, Minn. (Rock Dell, Mn) Sept 24th, 1858,and grew to womanhood in the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Helge N. Lee. She was married Nov. 20th, 1876, to Johan Milian Peterson, and they made their home on a farm in Mower county until the fall of `1895, when they moved to Hayfield.
In this village they built the house occupied by Mr. and Mrs. Miler and the one occupied by Mr. and Mrs. Norman Fredrickson. For some years she has made her home at the farm, a short distance south of Hayfield. During the past winter she has been cared for by her daughter, Mrs. E. C. Hellickson, of New England, ND.
She is survived by 10 children, seven of whom were present at the funeral services. They are Oscar P. Frogner, Minneapolis; Mrs. E. C. Hellickson (Dora); Mrs. Arthur F. Gierre (Agnes)Jacobson, Minn.; Herman E. Peterson, Dodge Center, Minn.; Mrs. Roy Grier (Ester)and Walter Peterson, Hayfield, MN.
Mrs. W. F. Wadell (Helen) and Mrs. A. K. Peterson (Lottie) of California, and J. Arthur Peterson, of Conrad, Mont. were unable to be present at the funeral.
Other surviving relatives are a sister, Mrs. D. B. Brekke,(Martha) of Rock Dell; three brothers,Nels Helge Lee, Dexter, MN., John H. Lee, Kasson, Mn. Ole Horvei Lee, Fergus Falls, Mn. There are 23 grand children and two great grand children.
Her husband passed away Aug 17th, and one daughter, Mrs. E. A. Haukom (Clara)and a grand child have preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon at the home and at Trinity church, with Rev. Mr. Johnson officiating, and internment was made at Fairview cemetery.
