David C. Heeter, 55, of East Stroudsburg, died Wednesday evening, Sept. 1, at Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg.
Born on June 10, 1955 in East Stroudsburg, he was a son of Charles and Joan (Stellmer) Heeter of East Stroudsburg and was a lifetime resident of Monroe County.
He was previously employed by A&P food stores, having worked in Stroudsburg and then Mount Pocono. More recently he was a self-employed building contractor and carpenter.
Dave was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles 1106 in Stroud Township and donated his time to various charities.
In addition to his parents he is survived by a daughter, Tara Heeter and her fiancé, Matt Bauman, of Marshalls Creek; a brother, Terry Heeter and his wife, Brenda, of Lexington, Ky.; a niece, Abbey Heeter of Lexington; his longtime companion, Jane Ehrhardt of Bartonsville; and his former wife, Janice McKeown and her husband, Thomas. He was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Ray Heeter, on Dec. 28, 2009.
There will be a viewing from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 7, at the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main St., Stroudsburg. The funeral service will begin at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Candy LaBar officiating. Burial will follow in Keokee Chapel Cemetery, Paradise Valley.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial remembrances be made to the American Heart Association, 613 Baltimore Dr., Suite 3, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702; or to Camp Papillon Pet Adoption and Rescue, P.O. Box 332, Stroudsburg, PA 18360.
