AUSTIN — Stella Exe, 103, of Austin, died Saturday (Dec. 30, 2006) at Our House.

Stella Juelson was born Aug. 20, 1903, in rural Hayfield. She attended school through eighth grade in a one-room country schoolhouse. While attending Hayfield High School, she worked at Lunde's Cafe as a waitress. She later moved to Rochester, where she worked at Worrell Hospital. She married Benjamin Exe, and they had two daughters. Her husband preceded her in death; afterwards, she had a special friend for many years, Bob Wentzel.

Survivors include two daughters, Maxine Lundene and Delora (Robert) Boomgard, both of Austin; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers.

A private family service will be at Worlein Funeral Home in Austin.
