FITZWATER BURIAL SET FOR SATURDAY
Service for ALBERT V. FITZWATER, former mayor of South Charleston, is scheduled for Saturday at 2 p.m. in South Charleston First Methodist Church. The Rev. Wendell Eskew will officiate and burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park.
Mr. Fitzwater, 78, a Republican, was elected mayor in 1926, 1928, 1946, and 1950. He occupied the office for 12 years.
Until his death, he operated the A. V. Fitzwater Insurance Agency at 9 Pennsylvania Avenue.
Survivors: sister, Miss Mamie Fitzwater, with whom he lived; brother, O. Ray Fitzwater of Chillicothe, Ohio; three daughters, Mrs. Marie F. Pauley and Mrs. Ruth Z. Crawford, both of South Charleston, and Mrs. Beatrice F. McLean of St. Albans.
