EDNA A (DRURY) COLE
Edna was the daughter of Cynthia Ann (Willits) and Courtney Drury. She was only about 11 or 12 years old when her mother passed away in 1862 at the age of 33. In 1865 her father, being widowed twice, married his third wife; Cornelia Nettie Howell.
Edna married Levi Edward Cole, son of Zerilda Mannon and her first husband Edward Cole. He was also the adopted son of Luet James Monroe Mannon (Zerilda's brother) and his second wife Sarah Jane Moore. They were married on Feb 15, 1872 in New Boston Township, Mercer County, IL. To this union was born two children; Fred Lee Cole, born Jan 20, 1877 and Alice Edna Cole, norn Oct 11, 1888.
Levi was always a very ambitious business man holding important office job for the railway postal service, the power company an the Davenport, Iowa, Water Company. The family moved where ever his jobs took them and over th years they lived in Burlington, Oscaloosa and Davenport, Iowa.
Sometime around 1890, after the death of her second husband, Levi's mother, Zerilda came to live with them. Edna and Levi took care of her until she died in 1900.
Edna died in 1917 about the age of 67 and is buried in Davenport,Iowa.
