Rites Tuesday for Drowning Victim

Funeral services for Az Barkus, 52, of 2223 S. Crestway Ave., who drowned Saturday afternoon in Otter Creek, 10 miles south of Eureka, Kan. wil be conducted Tuesday in the Baird Funeral Chapel at Eureka. The Rev. Bill Murray will officiate and burial will be in Matfield Green Cemetery.

Mr. Barkus was drowned when the boat from which he was fishing overturned, throwing him into deep water. A companion swam ashore.

Survivors include his widow, Veral Lucille; a son, Jack Barkus, Boeing employe; his mother, Mrs. Vada Barkus, Eureka; three sisters, Mrs. F. F. Adams, 456 N. Edgemoor Dr., and Mrs. Leonard Perkins, Matfield Green, and Mrs. Theodore Pixley, Blackwell, Okla., and a brother, Argle Barkus, Winfield, Kan.
