Born January 4,1906, in Tonk Valley,he was a resident of the Fort Belknap community for 79 years. He and Altha Whiteley were married June 3,1925, in Newcastle. She preceded him in death in 1971. Thompson was a retired farmer and rancher. He was a member of the Farm Bureau and was a Methodist.
Survivors include three daughters, Ann Helton of Olney, Bernice Blackstock and Jo Neal, both of Fort Belknap;
eleven grandchildren; and nineteen great grandchildren. He was preced in death by a son, Franklin Thompson in 1977.
Burial was in Newcastle Cemetery under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home.
