Wallace H Dolley, 84, husband of Rhoda(Porter)Fuller Dolley, died Jan. 4, 2000 at Lincoln hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Passadumkeag, Maine April 10, 1915. The son of Leigh and Lucy (Tracy) Dolley.
Wallace served as a sergeant with the 8th Air Force during WWII. He served four years in Hannington, England where he made many special buddies. They were part of the First Strategic Air Force Depot Group (SAD)which had annual conventions. Wallace will be sadly missed by his special friends from this group.
Wallace was a member of Lee-Graham American Legion Post 97 of Howland, and had been a member of the VFW post in West Enfield. Wallace served on the Board of Select Men of Lowell, and for many years served as Sexton for West End Cemetery in Lowell. He retired from Haskell Lumber Company in Lincoln Ctr., Maine.
In addition to his wife, Rhoda, he is survived by two children, Paul Henry Dolley and wife Katerine E. Byrd Dolley of Wilmington,NC. and Laura Dolley LeBreton and husband Mark Lebreton of Milford, Me., two step-children, Cheryl Fuller Valcourt and husband Jacques Valcourt of Howland,Me., and Allan Fuller of Lowell, Me., three grandchildren, Nicholas Paul Dolley, and Chris and Dan Valcourt.
