"MILFORD - William Edward Waugh, 42 years old, died at 8:15 Sunday night at his home here, following a long illness with arthritis. He had been sick for two and a half years, three months of that time being spent in the Fox Memorial hospital in Oneonta. He returned home two and a half weeks ago. The funeral will be held at the home of his mother, Mrs. Walter Jennings, of this village, Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The Rev. A. B. Judson will officiate and burial will take place in the Plains cemetery at Oneonta. Mr. Waugh was born at Laurville, Ia., January 11, 1891, his parents being John and Mary (Butzier) Waugh. His marriage to Mrs. Elizabeth King took place in 1922 at Wilkes-Barre, Pa. He was employed as a fireman on the D. & H. railroad and was a member of the brotherhood of Locomotive Firemen. For eleven years he had been a resident of Milford, where his death will be mourned by many friends. Surviving relatives include: Mrs. Waugh; a daughter, Miss Mildred Waugh of Ola, Ark.; his mother, and two stepchildren, Mrs. Samuel Recile of Westfield and Leonard Foss of Scranton, Pa."
