Surviving are his wife and ten children; 6 sons, Thomas, Perry, Erban, Charles Jr., Robert and David all of Colesburg, 4 daughters; Mrs. Mary Parsons, Mrs. Martha Spores, Mrs. Nellie Bolsinger and Edna Davis at home.
He was preceded by a daughter Emeline.
Note: Enlisted as a private Feb. 24, 1865 for a period of one year in the 45th Illinois Infantry at Dixon, Illinois. Occupation, farmer, Brown hair, blue eyes fair complexion, 5' 8 1/2". He was mustered out on July 12, 1865 at Louisville, Kentucky.
