Clarence E. Conklin, 77, of Mill Rd., Clearfield, died yesterday in the Clearfield Hospital following a long illness. He was born May 11, 1886, in Lawrence Township, son of the late Oliver P. and Clara (Demi) Conklin. Mr. Conklin was a retired employe of the New York Central Railroad and attended the Free Methodist Church at Clearfield. Surviving are his wife, the former Eva E. Read, Clearfield; one daughter, Mrs. Albert (Wanda) Bierly, Rochester, Minn.; three sons - J. Richard, Clearfield; C. Steven and Daniel L., both of Mogadore, Ohio; 13 grandchildren and a brother Harry H., Clearfield. He was preceded in death by two sons, Fay and Joseph, and a brother Weaver. Funeral services will be held from Fred B. Leavy funeral home, Clearfield, with the Rev. Stacy Barr, pastor of the Free Methodist Church officiating.
