Son of the late Lawrence Huse and Marella Atchley McAlvain, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Jim McAlvain, Pete McAlvain, Dick McAlvain and Joe McAlvain; and one grandson, Kaleb McAlvain. He was survived by his wife, Ann Houck McAlvain (married on April 10, 1960, in Covington, OK); three daughters, Brenda Kale, Sondra McAlvain and Sherri Pickle; one son, Bob Randell McAlvain; two brothers, Johnny McAlvain and David McAlvain; one sisteer, Kay Anthony; 12 grandchildreen; 19 great-grandchildren; and an extended family of relatives and friends. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He worked in carpentry early in his career and later in construcction. He was a memer of Oak Valley Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing and being outdoors. He was proud of his Choctaw heritage. His funeral was held on May 14, 2009, at the First Baptist Church of Crescent, OK, with The Rev. Mike Channel officiating.
