William Patrick March, 81, of Hobe Sound died Dec. 18 in Stuart.

He was born in York, PA, and had been a resident of Martin County for 18 years, coming from West Islip, Long Island, NY.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He fought in the Battle of the Bulge and earned the Bronze Star and Conspicuous Service Cross, among other medals.

He attended St. Joseph Catholic Church in Stuart and St. Christopher Catholic Church in Hobe Sound.

He was a member of Disabled American Veterans (D.A.V.)

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Marie Franklin March of Hobe Sound; five sons, William Franklin of Lancaster, Pa., Dennis Patrick (Jean) of Beaufort, SC, Ronald James (Janet) of Holbrook, NY, Gary Thomas of Somers, CT, Gregory Michael of West Islip; a daughter, Regina Marie March of Hobe Sound; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Jude Catholic Church in Jupiter.
