If you notice. W. C. married his first wife Loucetta (Settie) Lambert in 1883 and my Great paternal grandmother, Fannie Jane Ballard was born in 1884. Sammy was probable born after and his birth possibly caused Loucetta's death in 1887. He then married Settie Pevey in 1889 and she died the next year. Then he married Frances Lambert.

He had bad luck with wives. But this fits right. I think we got it right now.My grandmother, Fannie had 2 step-mothers in a very short period of time. I wonder what killed Settie. She was only 24 and Loucetta was 25.

Funeral services for Mrs. Wadie Ann Lambert, a former resident here, were held
Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 at the Forest Grove Methodist Protestant Church.

Interment was at the cemetery there, with Lawrence County Funeral Home in charge.

Mrs. Lambert, 80, had resided in McComb for the past two years, and was a patient at
the Magnolia Hospital at the time of her death.

She was the daughter of the late W.C. Ballard and Angeline Lambert Ballard. She was a
member of the Powell's Grove Pentecostal Church.

Services were conducted by the Rev. Lonnie Na__n and he was assisted by Rev. Andy
Jenkins.

She was married to the late James S. Lambert. Survivors include five daughters: Mrs.
Dollie Ann Creel of Tylertown, Mrs. Louise Deer and Mrs. Rosa Lee Walker, both of
McComb; and Mrs. Janie McNease and Mrs. Juanita Hall, both of Monticello. Two sons;
Frank P. Lambert and Chesterfield Lambert, both of McComb; four sisters; Mrs. Hazel
Hancock of Indiana, Mrs. Beatrice Loper and Mrs. Clara Hearn Of Monticello, and Mrs.
Sofia Mae King of Indiana; three brothers; Kelly Ballard, Perry Ballard and Toxie Ballard,
all of Monticello, and 30 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren.


Pallbearers were Noel Roy Lambert, Dewitt Boyd, Nolan Lambert, Jimmy Deer, Mack
Lambert and Gene Deer.

Services for Cornelia Lambert Ballard of Monticello are 2 p.m., Wednesday, July 2, at
Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Lambert Cemetery in Jayess.

Visitation is Tuesday from 5-9 p.m., at the funeral home.

Mrs. Ballard, 89, died June 30, 2003, at her residence. She was born in Monticello on
Sept. 25, 1913, to Vince Lambert and Pollie Lambert.

She was a retired final inspector at Kellwood Manufacturing Co., where she worked for
29 years. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Toxie Ballard; one daughter,
Donna Dean Ballard; her brothers, Sylvester Ballard, Sherman Ballard, Simpson Ballard,
Edward Ballard and Ray Ballard; and her sister, Julia Nelson.

Survivors are her sons, V.W. Ballard, Carey Ballard and Toxie Higdon Ballard, all of
Monticello; her daughter, Modena B. Wilson of Monticello; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-
grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
