Born January 18, 1922 in rural Bethany, the son of Oscar L. and Nellie M. Babbs Ripley. He married Frances E. Lewis Morrison in 1947. He was a World War II veteran, receiving five battle stars and the Good Conduct Medal. Surviving were his wife, daughters, Karen Camfield and husband Ronnie; Evelyn Lash and husband Arlen; brothers, Maurice A. Ripley and wife Opal; Clifford E. Ripley and wife Virginia; sisters, Julia M. Clutter; Vangie E. Jones; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Virgil Earnest Ripley; sisters, Lois Lucinda Meyenberg and Ruby Grace Banks Miller.
