First born of the late Howard J. Cover and Marguerite E. (Henry) Cover and also proceeded in death by brother, Howard J. Cover, Jr.
He is survived by three of his closest friends, his beloved companion, Pat Gorman; son, Paul L. Cover Jr.; and daughter, Sadie Cover. Also Paul Jr.'s wife Dixie; his brothers, Robert and his wife Darlene, Stephen and his wife Sue, Charles and his wife Cindy, Arthur and his wife Linda; and his sisters, Phyllis Ruhl and her husband Clint and Sarah Miller and her husband Dick; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Paul graduated from John Harris High School Class of 1951. After graduation he joined the U.S. Marine Corps graduating from the University of Paris Island and was sent to Korea as a machine gunner with the First Infantry Division. He served with distinction achieving the rank of Sergeant and was awarded the Bronze Star, the Rifle Expert Medal, the Pistol Sharp Shooter Medal, the Korean Service Medal with two stars, the Korean P.U.C. and the United Nations Service Medal. Paul was employed by United Water retiring after over 35 years of service.
His interests were many and varied; hunting with his brothers, riding his Harley as a member of the HOGS, participating in many major marathons, riding his bicycle on long distance tours and playing Twilight baseball. He was an avid walker, averaging 15 miles daily. Paul traveled extensively with Pat, both at home and abroad.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 7th, in Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, New Cumberland.
Burial with Military Honors will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
