DAVENPORT, Iowa—Allen C. Lobdell Sr., 72, of Montpelier, died on Thursday, Aug. 2, 2012, at the Davenport Lutheran Home in Davenport.

Allen was born July 9, 1940, to Delbert and Ruth (Tietsch) Lobdell in Montpelier. He married Dawn Bennett on March 20, 1965, in Colorado Springs, Colo.

He proudly served his country in the United States Army.

Allen drove truck for John Deere and later owned and operated Lobdell Trucking retiring in 2002.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and mushroom hunting. While in Arizona, he like to pan for gold. He enjoyed visiting the local casinos, looking for antiques and he always looked forward to traveling to Texas for the winter.

He is survived and lovingly remembered by his son Allen Lobdell Jr. of Montpelier, his granddaughter Sydney Lobdell of Buffalo, and his brothers: Darrell and his wife Joyce Lobdell of Texas and Duane and his wife Beverly Lobdell of Blue Grass. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters: Audrey Brink and Carole Krieger and his brother Delbert Lobdell.
